Support Phase One of the ARES Trailer Today!
ARES District 05 ECs, AECs and members are invited to attend and participate in a district wide meeting and luncheon on August 30, 2025, from 11:30 - 1:30.
ECs will be invited to update the group on your ARES county activities and status. (A laptop and projector will be available if needed.) We can share successes, obstacles, and information, and get to know each other.
We will meet at the Brazos County CEOC, 110 Main Street, Bryan TX. A sandwich lunch will be available for $12.50. Please RSVP below by August 27th so we can make the food arrangements. We'll collect the money at the meeting.
With GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service), your family can be on the air in no time—no test required. One $35 license covers your whole household for 10 years, and affordable radios make it easy to start. From backyard adventures to community events, GMRS is perfect for fun, connection, and emergency preparedness.
Why It Matters
Radios work when cell towers fail, making them a great tool for safety and learning. Parents and kids can explore together, join local nets, and even take the first steps toward a HAM license. We’ll help you choose the right radio, program it, and find local repeaters so you can start your radio adventure today!
N5BRZ Cares is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Brazos County ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) and emergency communications efforts. Our mission is to ensure that when disasters strike, reliable communication is always available to assist first responders, emergency management teams, and our local community.
We provide resources, training, and equipment to empower ham radio operators who serve as a critical link during emergencies. Whether it's severe weather, natural disasters, or public service events, N5BRZ Cares stands ready to support communication efforts that help keep Brazos County safe and connected.
